Two Sisters. One Mission.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned through our work, it’s this:
Healing is rarely just physical.
And it’s rarely just emotional.
In a world that often wants simple answers, many people are carrying burdens that don’t fit neatly into one category.
Sometimes the anxiety isn’t only anxiety.
Sometimes the exhaustion isn’t only exhaustion.
Sometimes the overwhelm isn’t only overwhelm.
Sometimes there are hormones involved.
Sometimes there is grief.
Sometimes there is trauma.
Sometimes there is chronic stress.
Sometimes there is loneliness.
Sometimes there are nutrient deficiencies, poor sleep, or underlying medical concerns.
Sometimes there is a nervous system that has been stuck in survival mode for far too long.
And sometimes it’s a combination of all of those things.
As sisters, we have spent years caring for people in different ways.
We attend different churches—Kayla at True North Church in Fargo and Kelly at Restoration Church in Glenwood. We have different businesses, different specialties, and different day-to-day work.
But we share the same mission:
To help people experience healing, hope, and wholeness.
Two Perspectives. One Goal.
Kayla is a Nurse Practitioner and owner of Lavender Health & Wellness.
Through hormone optimization, functional medicine, nutrition, lifestyle support, and whole-person healthcare, she helps people uncover root causes and better understand what is happening inside their bodies.
Many of the people she sees have spent years feeling unheard.
They know something feels off.
They know they aren't functioning the way they used to.
They know they are tired, anxious, struggling with weight changes, brain fog, sleep issues, low motivation, or emotional ups and downs.
And often, they have been told that everything is "normal."
Sometimes the missing piece is physical.
Sometimes the body is asking for help.
At the same time, Kelly's work through Rooted Hearts Initiative focuses on emotional wellness, faith, trauma-informed education, grief support, and helping people better understand their nervous systems.
Because sometimes what looks like anxiety is a nervous system that has learned to stay on high alert.
Sometimes what looks like anger is actually fear.
Sometimes what looks like perfectionism is a child—or adult—trying desperately to feel safe.
Sometimes what looks like burnout is a person who has been carrying too much for too long.
Neither perspective tells the whole story.
Together, they help paint a fuller picture.
God Cares About the Whole Person
Throughout Scripture, we see Jesus caring for people as whole human beings.
He fed the hungry.
He comforted the grieving.
He healed physical illnesses.
He restored relationships.
He addressed fear.
He welcomed the lonely.
He cared about bodies.
He cared about minds.
He cared about hearts.
He cared about souls.
We believe that same truth still matters today.
Your body matters.
Your mind matters.
Your relationships matter.
Your spirit matters.
God did not create us as disconnected pieces.
He created us as whole people.
And when one area struggles, it often affects the others.
Chronic stress can impact hormones.
Poor sleep can impact emotions.
Grief can impact physical health.
Isolation can impact both mental and physical wellness.
The connection between these systems is not weakness.
It's how we were designed.
Healing Is Not About Perfection
One of the greatest misconceptions about healing is that it means arriving at some perfect destination.
That if we pray enough, work hard enough, eat perfectly enough, or think positively enough, we will eventually become immune to struggle.
But healing doesn't usually work that way.
Healing is often less about perfection and more about awareness.
It's learning to listen.
Listening to your body.
Listening to your emotions.
Listening to trusted people.
Listening to God.
It's learning to ask better questions.
Why am I exhausted?
Why does this situation trigger such a strong reaction?
Why do I struggle to rest?
Why do I feel disconnected?
Why do I keep finding myself in survival mode?
Those questions are not signs of weakness.
They are often the beginning of wisdom.
God Uses Many Tools
Sometimes healing comes through prayer.
Sometimes it comes through community.
Sometimes it comes through counseling.
Sometimes it comes through medical care.
Sometimes it comes through learning healthy boundaries.
Sometimes it comes through understanding your hormones.
Sometimes it comes through grieving losses you never fully processed.
Sometimes it comes through finally allowing yourself to receive help.
We believe God can use many tools to bring healing, growth, and restoration.
Not because the tools themselves are the answer.
But because God often works through people, relationships, wisdom, medicine, science, faith, and community.
Healing rarely happens in isolation.
And you were never meant to carry everything alone.
A Shared Hope
Whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, hormonal changes, chronic stress, burnout, parenting challenges, emotional struggles, or simply trying to understand yourself better, we want you to know this:
There is hope.
There are answers worth exploring.
There are people who care.
And there is a God who sees the whole story.
Not just your symptoms.
Not just your struggles.
Not just your mistakes.
The whole story.
And that story matters.
Two sisters.
Two perspectives.
One mission.
Helping people move toward healing, hope, and wholeness—mind, body, and spirit.
